Prevention is better than cure

We’ve all heard these words. A healthy lifestyle through nutrition, exercise and a sound mental state is now seen as the best way to prevent disease. Poor health can lead to reduced immunity, increased susceptibility to disease, impaired physical and mental development, and reduced vitality. This is the premise for naturopathy.  Our bodies are all different. Naturopathy looks at the way YOUR body works and your lifestyle to find optimal choices to make it easy for you to be and stay healthy.

What is naturopathy?

The human body processes an inherent ‘self-healing’ ability, when the foundations – a healthy diet, clean fresh water, sunlight, adequate sleep, exercise and stress management – are optimised. Naturopathy is considered holistic, looking at the whole system as a connected unit. Each bodily function impacts and affects the function of another. Our role is to reveal the root causes to health problems and identify signs of dysfunction then uncover the best way to support your body to provide the right environment for healing.

Naturopathy is non-invasive and aims to do your body no harm. Its main objective is to stimulate and restore your body’s own natural healing powers. A naturopath for example will consider factors such as hormonal imbalances, heavy metal toxicity, nutrient deficiencies, ph levels, absorption factors, metabolism, inflammatory markers, neurotransmitter balance and cell health.

How does naturopathy work?

Naturopathy puts you and the way your body works at the centre.  We pay particular attention to any symptoms as this is your body’s natural healing mechanism trying to heal and become healthy. A thorough initial assessment begins your health journey. This involves putting the facts together specific to your case. The information gathering phase will include a comprehensive health questionnaire, your everyday normal eating style and diet, lifestyle factors, family history, as well as your history of any illnesses, accidents or complaints.

After your assessment, an individual plan will be drawn up and discussed in detail with you. Your plan may include several techniques or modalities together including diet, nutritional supplementation, herbal medicine and lifestyle recommendations. Telehealth and in house consultations are available with access to online patient ordering systems. This means your products will be delivered directly to your door, hassle free.
